The Tigress Girl

Once there was a girl

Who liked to twirl.

When she did a jig

Everyone would stop to watch – whether small or big.

Once while she was dancing in the jungle,

She also loudly sang the jingle.

Out came the tiger,

Who challenged her for a duel.

The girl was scared

But did not let it show

She accepted the proposal

And started her performance with a slight bow.

The tiger was hungry

And this was but his trick

To pounce upon her while she twirled

And devour her lazily near the creek.

Of the devious plan, the girl always knew

For she had come there with an idea

To teach the tiger a lesson new!

Twirled and danced and sang

Oh yes she did!

All day long.

The tiger grew impatient by then,

And so, he pounced upon her

Without a second thought in his mighty head.

The girl had anticipated this,

For this was her plan!

No sooner had the tiger jumped,

Than she slid on to her right side

In a moment’s time.

And the tiger landed up

Directly on the sharp thorns of the cactus plants,

Which were on the girl’s left hand side!

And so the girl who liked to

Dance and twirl

Came to be known as the Tigress Girl!
